Ruger Vaquero

The Vaquero is the true western style revolver in the Ruger lineup. First it has minimal fixed sights with a half penny sized front sight and a frame groove for the rear. When learning to aim one of these it helps to start by sighting halfway up the front sight blade and adjust from there. It may take a little practice. These guns are comfortable to shoot and have fun variants such as bird head grips and short barrels. That being said this is a hefty and strong gun. The 45LC version of this weapon is used to make the custom Bowen Nimrod .500 Linebaugh.  That means part of the frame is milled away a new cylinder and barrel is added and it’s still strong enough to handle the .500 Linebaugh cartridges. Impressive!
